ARGENTINA

Overview

In 2017, the DQ Institute collaborated with the Varkey Foundation to bring the #DQEveryChild movement into Argentina. With limited time to take part in the 2017 DQ World Programme, Augustin Porres and his team worked to offer schools the opportunity to participate in the 2017 DQ Study instead. The Study provides these schools with the necessary foundations for shaping their pedagogical approaches to digital citizenship education by first giving schools a preliminary review of their students’ current exposure to cyber-risks and their digital use habits.

Through their initiatives, 190 8-12 year olds were included in the analysis of the Study. Schools that had over 100 respondents will receive a DQ Screen Time Report, setting the groundwork for further collaborations with the Institute in 2018 for a wider implementation of the DQ World programme across Argentina.

From Our Partner

Senator from Buenos Aires, National Congress of Argentina, and former Minister of Education
“We are connecting all schools to the internet by giving access to kids and the internet technology. We want that to be in a comfortable environment, a healthy environment. The use of technology brings threats with it, so it has to be in a very responsible way, and that’s where the DQ Institute will help us.”
